Field Notes: Evanston

From Mike Knezovich:

I ran into a local bookstore owner as he walked toward his store to open this morning. And I said, did you vote? He said yes, back home in Evanston. I said, “McCain, right?” He smiled and said that as he walked to the poll he came across a house on Hinman. It had all these McCain signs on the lawn. “Which is unusual in Evanston,” he smiled. Then he looked at the house and saw a floating balloon – like a parade balloon but smaller it sounds like – of Sarah Palin. And above that, a big banner that said, “The Scariest House in Evanston.”
