A friend forwarded this to me with a good question: Are other aldermen doing this too?

Subject: Let Me Know Your Thoughts
Dear 47th Ward Residents,
As most of you know, the City Council will soon be considering a proposal to relocate the Chicago Children’s Museum to Bicentennial Plaza.
As your representative, I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue. Please e-mail my office at ward47@cityofchicago.org. In your emails, please include your name, address, and thoughts on the proposal.
I will be reviewing all responses before I cast a vote at City Council.
Best Wishes,
Gene Schulter
Alderman, 47th Ward

Did you notice its says Bicentennial Plaza not Grant Park? mmmm
Officially it’s “Daley Bicentennial Plaza” but that’s beside the point. As is the Cancer Survivors Memorial or whatever it is that caused a flap some years back in that little corner of Grant Park.
I’ll be sure to let Ald. Schulter know where I think the Children’s Museum should stick its new building.
Great email. Received it myself and replied. I had hope…. until he didn’t then show up for the committee vote today. Sure, the whole council still has to vote, but on such a divisive issue, doesn’t it make sense to show up for your own committee votes?
