Canadian Bacon

Barack Obama got in trouble this week when his chief economic advisor, Austan Goolsbee of the University of Chicago, met with a Canadian official whose notes say Goolsbee told him not to worry about the presidential candidate’s rhetoric about NAFTA. That meeting took place in Chicago with consulate general Georges Rioux, who came to Chicago in 2006 with the intention, we presume, of catching a few Blackhawks games and lying low. Oops.

If you want to stop by and say hello, the Canadian consulate here is at 180 North Stetson Avenue.
